OUR NAME COMES FROM OUR HOMETOWN OF IGGESUND SWEDEN WHICH IS LOCATED ABOUT 300 KILOMETERS NORTH OF THE CAPITAL STOCKHOLM.

Few companies can boast of being in operation for more than 325 years. Founded in 1685, the parent company of Iggesund Tools took its name from the town of Iggesund, located about 300 kilometers north of Stockholm. Near the end of the 19th Century, the Iggesund company began manufacturing tools for the growing lumber business around the world and we haven’t looked back since.

One of Iggesund’s most important contributions to the wood products industry was its development of the TurnKnife® System in the 1980’s. In an industry that was plagued with age-old methods and technology, the TurnKnife® System constituted a real breakthrough. With the growing demand for improved chip quality, Iggesund’s TurnKnife® System quickly developed an impressive roster of clients in Europe and North America.
